Member of Russian ski team Maxim Vylegzhanin told CRAFT about the third edition of Tour de Ski:
«To compare this third edition of Tour de Ski by CRAFT Sportswear with the second one, it seems to me, that the quantity of spectators was the same, not more. For example in Oberhov it was very cold and if I were a spectator I wouldnt stay for a long time at the stadium. In Czech Republic and in Italy it was more spectators and even with our national flags. I dont know if they were Russians, but in Czech Republic a lot of people speak Russian and wish us luck.
The best race for me was the mass-start at the sixth stage of the Tour in Val di Fiemme, where I finished sixth. A lot of intermediate finishes changed traditional mass-start tactic, when all racers ski together till the very end. It was really hard to realize, if they want to break the group or just to fight for a bonus seconds. And it was my mistake, when I began to accelerate just before the next to last finish, cause two skiers ahead of me just fought for it and then decrease their speed. But Tour de Ski gives an opportunity to get experience very quickly, and next time I wont repeat this mistake».
