Schleck soars in Suisse

It was ‘go time’ for Fränk Schleck on Sunday’s stage 2 in the Tour de Suisse. Seeing an opportune moment to attack on the final climb, Schleck made his move and looked solid all the way to the top, just missing the win and moving to second on the classification.

Schleck made his move on the climb to Verbier with 6k to go, surging forward and immediately opening up a gap.  Counters by Tom Danielson (Garmin-Barracuda) and John Gadret (AG2R) couldn’t reel him back, but a last-second attack by Rui Costa (Movistar) saw the Portugese rider pass Schleck with 150m to go and earn the win as well as the race lead.  Schleck holds second place on GC at 8-seconds and now wears the green mountains jersey.
