Vjatka Ski Tour gathered best Russian skiers together

19th and 20th of March in Omutninsk and Belaya Kholunitsa (Kirovskaya region) took place Vjatka Ski Tour – two cross-country skiing competition devoted to birthday of Soviet Olympic and World cross-country skiing champion Jury Skobov. More than 200 skiers and among them members of Russian national team competed in 5 and 10 km individuals and sprints. CRAFT Sportswear was the mail sponsor of the event.

In women’s 5 km race winner was the best Russian skier of the season Olga Rocheva, second place won two times world U23 champion Olga Tiagai and third was track’s hostess Elena Uskova. Three times Olympic champion Julia Tchepalova also took place in the race and finished fifth. In men’s race Olympic bronze medalist Ivan Alypov won a gold medal, silver one owned by Olympic champion Eugeny Dementiev, and World champion Vasiliy Rochev became third.In sprint race at 20th of March men’s and women’s winners were again Ivan Alypov and Olga Rocheva, Elena Uskova finished in women’s sprint second ahead of World Cup stage winner Natalia Korosteleva. At the finish of the men’s race was a fierce battle for the second place between Eugeny Dementiev and Alexander Legkov, in which Alexander was only one second faster than Eugeny.
