On Sunday Andy Schleck won the Liège-Bastogne-Liège with a well-timed attack at 20 kilometers remaining of the 261-kilometre race. The 23 years old The Saxo Bank rider caught and passed Philippe Gilbert (Silence-Lotto) three kilometers later. He continued solo to the finish with a 1:12 advantage over Joaquím Rodríguez (Caisse d'Epargne).

Liège-Bastogne-Liège is the last of the three Ardennes Classics. The other two were Amstel Gold last Sunday and Flèche Wallonne on Wednesday.
