In Shodnja (Moscow region) took place fourth traditional cross-country skiing competitions on natural snow May ski track-2008. On the 500-meters long ski track competed best Russian cross-country skiers, biathletes and archery-biathletes. Opening ceremony was begun with the speech of Russian minister of sport, tourism and youth politic Vitaliy Mutko. CRAFT Sportswear was this day among the sponsors.
Snow that was saved from winter was white and clear. Ski track was well done and even rain didnt corrupt it. In womens 1,5 km race won Russian roller-ski prima Elena Vedeneeva. It was her third victory at these competitions, that is held nearby Moscow every year. In mens race winner was Maxim Vylegzhanin, Olympic champion Dementyev unfortunately broke his pole at the very beginning of the distance.
In biathlon mixed relay, where each team had just two competitors, won team from Moscow Natalia Spasskaya and Andrey Prokunin. World biathlon champion Dmitry Yaroshenko was with his teammate Maria Dudakova only third.
In the special heat spectators saw in action famous champions of the past: Mikhail Devjatiarov, Vjacheslav Vedenin, Alexei Prokurorov, Svetlana Nageikina and others.
