Paris-Brussels is one of the oldest semi classics on the program. Since 1893, primarily European riders have transported themselves between the two capitols where the course every year has been shorter. In the first years the race was over 400 kilometers…
Today's course was only close to 220 kilometers and Team Saxo Bank participated with Jonathan Bellis, Matthew Goss, Anders Lund, Frank Høj, Dominic Klemme, André Steensen, Kasper Klostergaard and Alex Rasmussen.
Five riders formed the front group early in the race but with nearly ten kilometers to go, the pack was complete and the race were to be decided in a mass sprint. Here, Team Saxo Bank's Anders Lund and Dominic Klemme put in a great effort to hold the field in one piece. On the broad boulevard in Brussels, the only 22-year-old Aussie and Team Saxo Bank rider, Matthew Goss suddenly came flying out of the bunch and won an impressive victory with no one even close to following him.
