Sports apparel specialist CRAFT will continue its sponsorship deal with the FIS Tour de Ski for three more years. The Swedish brand has extended its cooperation with the unique cross-country ski event that is also part of the FIS Cross-Country World Cup. In 2010, the event with 8 competitions will take place over 10 days from 1st to 10th of January. The athletes will travel from Oberhof/Germany via Prague to Italy.
Swedish performance apparel pioneer CRAFT has signed a cooperation deal with the International Ski Federation to continue the sponsorship of the “FIS Tour de Ski performance by CRAFT” for three further years. Since its introduction in the winter season 2006/07, the Swedish brand has been sponsor of the cross-country skiing event.
By sponsoring the international tour, CRAFT emphasizes its status as one of the leading brands in cross-country skiing. “The Tour de Ski has quickly established itself as the most prestigious, spectacular event of the cross-country season,” says Erik Abrahamsson, Brand Manager at CRAFT. “The World Cup stars compete in an incredibly challenging event and the competition is exciting to follow. Our presence at such an event demonstrates the authenticity of the brand. We love cross-country skiing and we also sponsor athletes and national teams.“ Over the past years, the brand has profited from an enormous rise in brand recognition and awareness with its visibility at the FIS Tour de Ski.
“FIS is pleased to continue the partnership with Craft to further develop the FIS Tour de Ski, clearly one of the most exciting recent additions to the international winter sports calendar. Craft has been part of the FIS Tour de Ski since its beginning three years ago and through its natural connection to the sport of Cross-Country Skiing, it has played a key role in helping the event become one of our flagship events within the FIS Cross-Country World Cup,” commented FIS President Gian Franco Kasper.
