Seventh and final stage of Tour of Missouri had its destination in the streets of Kansas City with 166 kilometers undulating terrain with oncoming turns which requires energy from the riders every time they get out of the saddle to keep up the pace of the bike.
Team Saxo Bank rider Gustav Larsson was prior to the stage second overall 30 seconds behind the leader of the race, David Zabriskie (Garmin). It was, however his teammates Nicki Sørensen, Chris Anker Sørensen and Jason McCartney who initially stole the limelight by going in today's first breakaway in order to put the Gramin team under pressure.
They were, however caught and the stage was to be decided in a mass sprint where Martin Gilbert (Planet Energy) was the fastest rider.
Team Saxo Bank rider, Gustav Larsson finished the race second overall.
