The evaluation criteria included aerodynamics, efficiency, functionality, ergonomics, weight, innovation, and comfort. CRAFT’s Elite Attack Bib is a cycling bib raised to race: a bi-component material provides coolness, compression and integrates carbon fibres for improved thermal regulation. Swedish sportswear brand CRAFT has won the Eurobike Award at this year’s trade fair in Friedrichshafen, Germany. The international jury of bike industry representatives (designers, editors and retailers) judged the 400 entries’ level of innovation, functionality, ergonomics and comfort – and were convinced by CRAFT’s Elite Attack Bib!
The new Elite Attack Bib unites the best material available with state-of-the-art technologies. It is made of a lightweight, bi-component fabric by Swiss knitwear specialist Eschler: Polyester fibres on the inside are soft on the skin and guarantee an outstanding moisture management as well as excellent cooling properties. While the Polyamide outer material has a high abrasion and pilling resistance. To make sure cyclists get all the support they need, added Elasthane provides muscle supporting compression in the key zones.
The fabric also integrates carbon fibres, which reduce the formation of odour and have antistatic properties. According to a study conducted at the independent research institute EMPA in St. Gallen/Switzerland, the carbon fibres further improve the thermal regulation.
The upper part of the bib is made of CRAFT’s highly popular, test winning Cool material: 100% hexachanneled Polyester mesh for soft comfort, great ventilation and moisture management. A deep cut-out in the front and a large, extra cut-out on the back minimizes the contact area with the skin and thus optimizes the bib’s ventilation. The construction also runs high up across the back guaranteeing a secure fit of the straps, which don’t risk slipping off the shoulder.
The new Elite pad is a 4-way stretch compound and utilizes the Lasercut Tech® procedure which removes unnecessary foam and creates soft edges and great breathability. It’s a seamless, antimicrobial, anatomically molded pad made of Oeko-Tex® certified fabrics. For the multilayer pad, CRAFT uses no film and no chemical addition when melting the layers. Instead they are melted with a natural flame. This process makes it possible to combine different densities and achieve the breathability level of one single piece that is free from obstacles interrupting the natural airflow. The central high-density foam features ‘exploded’ bubbles that guarantee a greater airflow than any other open cell PU foam. CRAFT also integrates three separate gel injections for optimum shock absorption. The pad is available in three different sizes with different densities and length – and of course comes as a gender specific pad.
